A visionary RC designer and modeler, Tony Mendoza's passion for aviation was inspired by American warplanes clearing the skies of Imperial Japanese aircraft - liberating his beloved Filipino homeland.
While much of the RC industry had gone plastic, Tony insisted on using only common materials that RC modelers could easily repair: balsa, foam cored and sheeted wings, silkspan and painted finish - despite a production line making Starhawks in quantity
Starhawks came out of their plain box with the wing in ONE piece - no joining by the customer was required even on .40 and .60 sized models like this 54" wingspan Starhawk High Wing.
A Starhawk Biplane right out of its plain box - not much to do but for engine, receiver and servos to install!
The same Starhawk Biplane just minutes later assembled on a table top - the slots and notching already done at the factory even for the interplanar struts!
Starhawk customers prided themselves on the aesthetic, clean lines for the eight different Starhawk models that went into serial production from Tony's design board.
